This protocol requires special software to work properly and while being installed on most dial-up devices, it's not a good choice if you want something secure or dynamic. Its main benefit is that it can easily be configured on your PC and mobile devices. An automatic VPN connection via UPnP doesn't require any manual settings.
The disadvantages of PPTP are: It doesn't provide
authentication (which means it's easier to hack into); It doesn't allow
for encryption between two endpoints (but the connection from an endpoint to
